Congratulations, ADDY Award Winners
The UA was well-represented at the American Advertising Federation Tucson's 33rd annual ADDY Awards ceremony last month.
Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Marketing was a big winner, receiving awards for the following projects:
Orientation 2013-14 Calendar
The Orientation Calendar won Best in Show in the print category. Its digital version also won a Gold ADDY. Developed for the 2013 new student orientation, the calendar provides students with information about important deadlines and offices on campus. Andrea Butterbrodt, principal designer for the UA Office of Admissions, was lead designer on the project.
This direct-mail admissions piece was sent to more than 300,000 high school juniors with the goal of developing their interest in the UA. It received a Bronze ADDY in the direct marketing category.
2013 Get in Guide
This publication for the 2013-14 student recruitment cycle was intended to connect students and parents to the UA and place the University at the top of their university considerations. It was mailed to 100,000 prospective students and received a Gold ADDY in the direct marketing category.
App Gen Video
This video was developed for the UA Office of Admissions to help drive applications for the fall 2014 recruitment cycle. It received a Bronze ADDY in the digital advertising category. You can watch the video here.
2013 Admissions Campaign
The admissions campaign submission received a Gold ADDY. It included marketing materials such as the Search Piece, the Get In Guide, email templates and the redesigned "You’re In" admissions packet.
Pac-12 Spot "Bear Down 2" Copywriting
The Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Marketing team provided copywriting support for the interim Pac-12 spot, which received a Gold ADDY for copywriting elements.
Strawberry Festival Logo
This logo was developed for the Park Student Union in support of a limited-time offer in which all PSU restaurants were serving strawberry specials. It earned a Silver ADDY for logo design.
UA Residence Life also took home three ADDY Awards. Its Residence Hall Association Dry Erase Board, designed to provide students with important campus contact information, and the Your UA Home recruitment campaign for incoming freshmen each won a bronze award. A workout and cook book designed for residence hall living won a silver award.
The UA College of Humanities won a Bronze ADDY for its campaign promoting UA Poetry Center Gatherings 2013, and the Alumni Association received a Bronze Addy in the public service collateral category for their "Wildcat Spirit: Time, Talent, Treasure" brochure.
In addition, UA BookStores won two awards: a Silver ADDY in the color advertisement category for the What's Your Wildcat Ritual? ad, and a Bronze Addy for the Back to School 2013 integrated ad campaign.
In addition to the ADDY Awards, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Marketing also was recognized last month during the 29th Annual Educational Advertising Awards for the following projects:
- App Gen Video (silver award for the TV Single category)
- UA Admissions Recruitment Package (merit award for the Total Recruitment category)
- UA Be a Part … Website (bronze award for the Website category)
- UA Get in Guide (gold award in the Search Pieces category)
- UA Honors Cum Laude (merit award in the Publication category)
- UA International Recruitment Package (merit award in the Total Recruitment category)
- UA Orientation Digital Publication (silver award in the New Media category)
